Member Services — Login ProceduresChanges to login procedures
for MemberDirect® take effect After that date, members who use MemberDirect® will no longer be able to do business using their member number and current personal access code (PAC). To further protect member privacy and security of financial information, as well as to pave the way for new banking features, new procedures are being implemented. How is the login procedure changing?Right now, members use MemberDirect® with their member number and personal access code (PAC). If an account is held jointly, members use the same member number and PAC to login. To be compliant with federal privacy legislation and to enhance security of your financial information, our credit union is changing the login procedures so that each member has their own unique number. Who does the login procedure change affect? The change affects all members who use MemberDirect®. In particular, this change affects those members who do not have either a MemberCard® or MasterCard. What do I have to do because of the login procedure change? If you conduct business on the Internet using MemberDirect® but do not currently have either a MemberCard® or MasterCard, please call your branch to apply for one. When does the change in login procedures take effect? After April 27, 2005, you will need to use either your MemberCard® or MasterCard to access MemberDirect®. What will happen when I login with my new number the first time? When you login for the first time to use MemberDirect®, you will be prompted to change your PAC. Why does the change in login procedure matter to me?The benefits in terms of privacy protection and security of financial information have already been noted. In addition, the change in login procedures means you have even more flexibility in doing your banking using MemberDirect® or TeleService®. The new login procedures support: * Account Consolidation - members can access any account linked to their new login number via MemberDirect®, or TeleService®. * Inter--Account Transfers - members will be able to transfer funds between all their linked accounts without first having to ask us for transfer capability. If you do not wish to have all your accounts consolidated in one view, please call to let us know. * Future Login Number Changes - as an ongoing privacy and security measure, members will be prompted to change their login number periodically. * Exchange Rate Information - members can access buy and sell rates for cash, cheques, traveller's cheques and foreign account transaction rates for any currency available via our credit union. We are also please to let you know the new login procedure will enable us to offer you a new and expanded Internet banking view. Right now, when you login to MemberDirect®, you are able to view information about your credit union business. Down the road, with the added feature known as ACCOUNTPLUS Consolidated View, you will also be able to display an online view of all products held with our partners, including Credential Group (ethical funds and asset management accounts) and CUETS (MasterCard®). Further information about ACCOUNTPLUS Consolidated View will be posted in the near future.
